SINGAPORE: Changi General Hospital is now Singapore's second busiest Accident and Emergency Department with more than 138,000 attendances.
Its admissions also grew from about 27,000 in 1997 to some 41,000 last year.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, more than 100 medical staff and their families visited the Old Changi Hospital and Toa Payoh Hospital.
It was a walk down memory lane for them as the two old hospitals were merged to form the current Changi General Hospital.
When they visited the old Changi Hospital, the staff walked through corridors leading to the wards and pharmacy.
The dilapidated building will be up soon for public tender to allow for other uses.
These include turning it into a chalet, students' hostel or commercial school. - CNA Chalet, students' hostel, commercial school? That place is gonna be really frightening. |
